QR Code Generator
Generate a downloadable QR code from text, a URL or contact details.
About QR Code Generator
QR Code Generator turns a text value or URL into a downloadable PNG code. Paste the content, choose an image size and error-correction level, and inspect the generated preview. It is useful for linking printed material to a web page, sharing a short text value or preparing a scannable reference for an event or product sheet.
The code contains the text you enter; ToolMyth does not create a redirect service or a destination page for you. For a website link, use the complete intended URL and test the downloaded code with the devices your audience is likely to use. A successful image download confirms that a code was generated, not that a URL exists or will remain available.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Enter the content
Paste a complete URL or text into Text or URL.
- Choose an image size
Select 128, 256 or 512 pixels in Size.
- Set error correction
Select Low, Medium, Quartile or High. The preview regenerates automatically after a short pause.
- Download and test
Select Download PNG, then scan the saved or printed code to check the exact destination or text.
Example: A link on a handout
Enter https://example.com, choose 256×256 pixels and Medium error correction, then download the PNG. Scan it to confirm the decoded text matches the intended URL before using a real destination on your handout.
How it works
After a short input debounce, the tool loads its QR encoding library and converts the entered text into a square pattern. The size setting controls the PNG dimensions. Error correction adds redundant information that can help a scanner read a partially damaged pattern; a higher level can also make a code denser. The generated image includes a white margin around the pattern, which helps separate the code from surrounding content.
The PNG embeds the text directly. It does not depend on a ToolMyth-owned short link, and changing the text here creates a different code rather than editing an image already printed elsewhere. Generation does not fetch or verify the supplied address. When a person scans a URL code and opens it, their device can contact that destination website. More text generally creates a denser pattern, so test the final physical size and printing conditions rather than relying on the preview alone.
When is this useful?
- Link a printed handout to a website.
- Share a short text reference through a scan.
- Create a code for an event or product information page.
Things to know
- PNG sizes are 128, 256 or 512 pixels; there is no SVG export or logo-placement control.
- The tool does not validate a URL’s availability or change a printed code later.
- Dense content, reduced print size or a cropped margin can make scanning harder.
Privacy & processing
Text is encoded into a PNG in this browser using the QR library. The generator does not visit the supplied URL or send the text to a ToolMyth processing server. Opening a scanned destination is a separate action on the scanning device.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the destination after printing?
The QR image stores the original text. Editing this tool creates another image; it does not update an already printed code.
Does higher error correction always scan better?
It adds redundancy but can also increase pattern density. Test the final size and conditions rather than assuming High is always preferable.
Does the generator check whether my URL works?
No. It encodes the supplied text without fetching the address. Scan and open the intended link yourself before sharing it.
Can I add a logo or download an SVG?
Not in this version. The interface offers PNG downloads and size and error-correction controls.
