Privacy Policy
Last updated:
ToolMyth is a free website with calculators, developer utilities, file tools and games. This policy explains how information is processed when you use ToolMyth. Different features work differently: a calculation can happen in your browser, while a shared game needs a connection to our infrastructure.
Information you provide
You may enter calculation values, paste text or code, select documents or media, choose a participant name, create room information, draw, submit guesses or send feedback. Entering information into a tool does not by itself mean it is sent to a ToolMyth server. The sections below explain the differences.
You do not need a ToolMyth account to use the tools. Avoid entering passwords, live access tokens, confidential business information or unnecessary personal information into shared rooms or feedback.
Browser-side processing
Some ToolMyth utilities process the information or files you provide directly in your browser. Our calculators calculate locally, and utilities such as JSON formatting, JWT decoding, Base64 conversion and QR code generation run on your device. Their processing does not require sending those inputs to a ToolMyth processing server.
This describes how the tool processes its input. Loading the website, downloading software resources, using analytics or displaying ads can still involve network requests, as explained below.
File processing
The current PDF, image, audio and video tools process selected files in the browser. For example, PDF merging, splitting, watermarking, editing and unlocking with a supplied password use local browser code or browser workers. Image tools use browser image processing, and media conversions use a browser-based media engine. These file-processing features do not upload the selected files to a ToolMyth processing server.
Audio and video tools download FFmpeg software resources from jsDelivr when the engine is first needed. That download sends a normal resource request to the CDN, including network information such as your IP address; it does not send your selected media file. See jsDelivr’s privacy information.
Working files and outputs may remain in browser memory while you use a tool. Download anything you want to keep. Closing a tool is not a guaranteed secure erasure of every browser or device copy, and files you download remain wherever you save them. Processing behavior should be checked again if a tool changes.
Hosting and network information
ToolMyth uses Cloudflare Workers with static assets to deliver the website, and Cloudflare Durable Objects to operate shared rooms. Requests necessarily reach Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Technical information such as IP addresses, request URLs, browser information and connection details may be processed to deliver responses, route requests, operate the service and provide security. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Shared-room features communicate with ToolMyth’s backend using API requests and live connections. A room’s participant name and session identifier are included in connection requests. The backend also uses the connecting IP address to limit repeated room creation. Operational errors may be logged when room services fail. Do not put sensitive information in a room name, participant name or shared URL.
Planning Poker
Planning Poker sends participant names, session identifiers, room names, story titles and descriptions, votes, estimates and completed-story information to our Cloudflare-backed room service. This information is needed to keep participants in the same session and allow reconnection.
Room participants can see shared room information and story history. Other participants receive individual votes after they are revealed; the room service processes votes before that. Planning Poker currently uses room codes and invite links, with no public room directory. Anyone you share a working room code or link with may be able to join. Keep confidential or personal information out of room and participant names and story text.
Drawing and multiplayer games
Draw & Guess transmits participant names, session identifiers, room settings, drawing strokes, guesses, game messages and scores to the room service. Relevant game information is shared with participants. If you choose a public drawing room, its room name, room code, player count and game settings can appear in the public lobby so other visitors can join. Private drawing rooms are not listed in that lobby.
Multiplayer Stick Race sends participant names, session identifiers, selected colors, room settings, race progress and results so the room can coordinate the race. Its rooms use invite codes and are not publicly listed. Shared rooms are processed by the server; they do not provide end-to-end encrypted messaging. Treat room links as information you share deliberately.
Advertising
ToolMyth integrates Google AdSense and may display ads provided by Google and advertising partners participating in its advertising services. These providers may use cookies, advertising identifiers, browser or device information and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, limit repeated ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted, personalize advertising.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to ToolMyth or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Whether ads are personalized depends on consent, region, eligibility and advertising settings.
Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and read Google’s advertising information. You can manage or opt out of Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings. Participating third-party advertising choices are also available through the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out tool.
ToolMyth’s file-processing features do not send your selected documents or media files to advertisers as part of their processing.
Google Analytics
ToolMyth uses Google Analytics 4 on its production website to understand page visits, which tools people open, tool actions and feedback-link clicks. The Physiotherapy Explorer also sends catalog exercise or region identifiers and quiz totals. These events help us understand site use and improve features; they are not a claim that every visitor can be identified.
Our custom event code restricts the information attached to these events. It does not include calculator values, pasted text, selected file contents or filenames, room codes or participant names. Page paths sent by this code exclude query strings and replace room-specific paths with general room paths. Google’s tags can also process technical information, cookies or analytics identifiers according to their settings and your consent. Analytics data should not be treated as completely anonymous. See Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
- Site preferences: local storage remembers your theme, favorite tools, recently used tools and the Stick Race sound preference on this browser.
- Room sessions: session storage keeps your participant name and room session identifier to support reconnection. The site also uses a temporary session marker to recover from a failed software update.
- Consent preferences: Google’s consent service may store the choices you make so they can be applied on later visits.
- Analytics and advertising: Google services may read or store cookies and related identifiers as allowed by your choices and their settings.
- Offline resources: the service worker caches site software and an offline page in your browser. This cache is separate from the files you select for processing.
Browser settings let you clear site storage, caches and cookies or restrict cookies. Clearing storage can remove preferences and room reconnection details, and you may be asked for consent again. Browser session restoration can preserve some session storage beyond an ordinary tab session.
Consent and your choices
Depending on your region and Google’s consent-message configuration, you may be asked to choose preferences for optional analytics or advertising. ToolMyth uses Google’s consent interface. When it is available, the Privacy and cookie settings button in the footer reopens Google’s message so you can review or change the choices it offers. The Privacy Policy link remains available even when that message is not available.
ToolMyth initializes Google’s analytics and advertising storage and personalization signals as denied and lets Google’s consent service update them. The site uses Advanced Consent Mode: Google tags can load and send cookieless measurement signals while storage consent is denied. Rejecting optional storage does not mean all network communication stops or that existing cookies are automatically deleted.
You can also use browser privacy settings, the advertising controls linked above or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Clearing local data does not delete information already transmitted to a shared room, Google or a feedback form.
Feedback and external links
Our feedback links open a Google Form. Submitting it sends the information you enter to Google and makes the response available to the ToolMyth form operator to handle your message. Google processes form use under its own privacy practices. Do not submit passwords, tokens or confidential files.
Articles and tools may link to third-party websites. If you follow those links, the destination’s privacy practices apply. ToolMyth does not control their processing or retention policies.
Data retention
Local preferences can remain until you clear browser storage. Temporary working data depends on the tool and browser; ToolMyth does not promise a fixed deletion time for every device copy.
Shared-room state is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure so rooms can operate and reconnect. Room code includes expiry and end-room cleanup, and public drawing listings are removed when no longer eligible or stale. Active connections can extend a room’s lifetime. Leaving a room or closing a tab does not necessarily immediately erase the shared room.
We do not specify a fixed retention period here for hosting logs, provider backups, analytics, advertising records or feedback responses. Their complete retention periods are not established by the website code. Provider settings and policies also apply; you can ask a privacy question using the contact link below.
Security
ToolMyth takes reasonable technical measures appropriate to these features, including checks on room messages and restrictions on host-only room actions. No website, browser storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Use a nickname in shared rooms and avoid sharing sensitive information or room access details unnecessarily.
Children’s privacy
ToolMyth is a general utility website and has no age-verification system. Children should use shared rooms and feedback with guidance from a parent or guardian and avoid sharing personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through these features, contact us through the feedback form so the concern can be reviewed.
Policy updates
We may revise this policy when features or processing practices change. The explicit “Last updated” date above identifies the latest policy revision; it does not change automatically with a website build.
Privacy questions
Contact ToolMyth through the feedback form (opens in a new tab) for privacy questions or concerns. Describe the feature and your concern without including passwords, live tokens or confidential files. Only include personal details that are necessary to explain your request.
